Becoming a secular oblate is a gradual journey that allows you to discover and deepen Benedictine spirituality while discerning your vocation.
Discovery Phase
First contacts
This first stage allows you to discover Benedictine spirituality, meet the oblate community and begin to familiarize yourself with the Rule of Saint Benedict. It generally lasts from 6 months to 1 year.

Postulancy
Initial commitment
Postulancy marks the beginning of a more formal commitment. The postulant deepens their knowledge of Benedictine life and begins to integrate its practices into daily life.

Novitiate
Year of formation
The novitiate is a year of intensive formation and discernment. The novice lives Benedictine spirituality more intensely and prepares for definitive commitment.

Oblation
Definitive commitment
Oblation is the definitive commitment by which the oblate offers themselves to God according to Saint Benedict's spirituality, linked to a particular monastery.
